Faith in the Storm
Instructions for participating in at-home worship:
Readings and prayer are provided here as suggestions for your family to do together. Even though our church is not physically gathered together in one building, there is a unity in Christ that happens when we all read the same scriptures and say the same prayers separately in our homes. Know that as your family participates in this worship time in your home, you are joining many others doing exactly the same thing in their homes.
You may download and print this entire service BULLETIN as well as sermon NOTES for children from the Download Files section at the bottom of this page.
Call to Worship
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. 3 For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.
— Psalm 95:1-7 (NIV)
Praise

4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
A chosen and precious cornerstone,
And the one who trusts in him
Will never be put to shame.”
— 1 Peter 2:4-6 (NIV)
Pray Together
Christ our Lord, long ago in Galilee, many who were sick and suffering needed friends to bring them to your side. Confident of your goodness, we lift up before you those who need your healing touch. We pray for those who are sick, whose illness is long, or painful, or difficult to cure, those who suffer restless days and sleepless nights. Jesus, bring healing and bring peace.
We lift up before you those who are troubled in mind, distressed by the past, or dreading the future, those who are trapped and cast down by fear. Jesus, bring healing and bring peace.
We lift up before you those for whom light has been turned to darkness by the death of a loved one, the breaking of a friendship, or the fading of hope. Jesus, bring healing and bring peace.
We ask your guidance for those who are engaged in medical research, that they may persevere with vision and energy; and for those who administer agencies of health and welfare, that they may have wisdom and compassion. Jesus, bring healing and bring peace. Amen.
