Our Mission Statement
Fellowship Christian Reformed Church exists to love God unconditionally as the center of our lives, to grow in meaningful relationships with other people, and to serve the needs of our local community.
How We Do This
Loving God Unconditionally
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. ~ 1 John 4:16.
At Fellowship Church we understand that loving God is at the center of everything we strive to do. Our love for God is rooted in the truth of his Word. So we keep the authority of the Bible as a high value. Our love for God is also rooted in WORSHIP. So we seek to honor and adore God through our daily lives in gratitude for his love and grace given to us.
Growing Meaningful Relationships
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another. ~ Hebrews 10:24–26
Everybody needs a place to belong where they are valued. At Fellowship Church we know that our faith in God grows stronger when we live in meaningful relationships with other Christians. The MINISTRY groups at fellowship all strive to enhance connections between people.
We also know that there are neighborhoods of people around us who may be lonely and isolated. And so Fellowship Church also takes seriously our calling to reach out, invite, and enfold new people who are not connected to a church family.
Serving Local Community
Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you…Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. ~ Jeremiah 29:7
At Fellowship Church we desire to use our abilities and resources to make our local COMMUNITY here in Grandville Michigan a better place. We understand that Jesus came to bring hope for those who are hurting and struggling. And we understand that the gospel message of God’s love is always accompanied by actions of mercy and compassion. We love where we live, and we desire to make a difference in the lives of other people right here in the place where we live.
Our Beliefs
Fellowship Church is part of a denomination (collection of affiliated churches) known as the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
The statements below summarize our beliefs of the Christian faith. Follow the links within those statements to explore the details of this summary.
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative word of God.
We believe that God reveals himself in the Bible to be a Trinity made up of the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. We profess along with the historic church over the centuries that the Apostles’ Creed summarizes this biblical teaching about who God is and what God does.
We believe that God reveals his story of redemption in the Bible, and our place and purpose within that story. We affirm that this message of the Bible is accurately taught in documents such as the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort.
We believe that God calls people to turn to him in repentance, receive his grace, and live as changed followers of Jesus in this world. We find writings such as Our World Belongs To God and the Belhar Confession are helpful to provide a visionary picture of what a transforming life of following Jesus looks like.
